The
District of Columbia Hampton Parents’ Club, Inc. (DCHPC) is a parent/student
support group working in partnership with
Hampton University and the National
Hampton Alumni Association. The Club was established in October 1969
by Washington, DC area parents and guardians to promote the general welfare
and success of their Hampton students.
The Club has grown and changed over the
years. Today, it is respected and fully recognized by Hampton
University as a body of parents interested in partnering to provide
the best atmosphere for the growth and development of Hampton students.
We are unique in that we provide an avenue for caring parents to remain
actively involved in supporting the education of their children. Our activities
include providing financial assistance to our members; working with the
University to resolve issues that may arise during the year; providing
discounted bus transportation between Hampton and the DC area for students
at Thanksgiving and Spring breaks; networking for career development and
student summer employment; and general information sharing. The Club also
awards thousands of dollars in scholarships
and grants to the students of participating parents, and to incoming Hampton
University freshmen. Families may also participate in scholarship drawings
at our monthly meetings.
Our membership dues are low and our
enthusiasm and record of success, high. I invite you to explore our web
site to learn more about us. Please contact us if you have any questions,
or would like more information on partnering with the DCHPC to support
Hampton University and its students.
